ROLE & PROGRAM:
Creation of a transit-oriented development in downtown Lake Worth that enhances the existing Tri-Rail Station and integrates new passenger stations for the FEC corridor. The plan also provides redevelopment of the downtown area:
- Increase transportation mobility for all modes of transportation
- FEC passenger train station at the heart of downtown at Lake Avenue and secondary park-and-ride station at 10th Avenue North
- Transit village around existing Tri-Rail station
- Modify roundabout at Lucerne Avenue and North A Street to increase safety
- Arts district along FEC south of Lake Avenue
- Retail/redevelopment along North Dixie Highway
- Park of Commerce as the economic engine for the City
- Stabilize residential neighborhoods
- New City hall and public plaza
