Under the American Rescue Plan, EDA was allocated $3 billion in supplemental funding to assist communities nationwide in their efforts to build back better by accelerating the economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and building local economies that will be resilient to future economic shocks. As the Economic Development District (EDD) for Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach counties, TCRPC is available to assist with EDA grant funding opportunities and technical assistance.
Results are now available from the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) COVID-19 Business Impact Survey. The survey was conducted during the month of March 2021 and received over 200 responses representing businesses from all four counties in the region.
This task force is charged with developing a pandemic economic recovery and resilience amendment to the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Plan for the Treasure Coast Region. The task force will remain in force and effect until June 30, 2022 to coincide with the end date of TCRPC’s grant agreement with the U.S. Economic Development Administration to provide CARES Act Recovery Assistance to the Region.
Through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) received CARES Act Funds to address the near-term and long-term economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the region continues to deal with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, TCRPC has been working with many communities and organizations to assist with response and recovery. TCRPC is here to be a source of information and a resource for COVID-19 response and initiatives important to the Treasure Coast Region of Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin and Palm Beach counties.
